Hi everyone, I'm not a professional but I have a question regarding axis numbers for contact lenses and glasses.

I have an eyeglass prescription from 2 years ago as follows:
    OD +1.50 -1.50x5
    OS +1.50 -0.75x175

And a recent contact lens prescription as follows:
    OD +1.50 -1.25x180
    OS +1.50 -0.75x170
    BC 8.5
    DIA 14.3

The axis values in prescription 2 indicate that the point with no cylinder power is straight ahead in the right eye and 10 degrees to the left of center in the left eye. The axis values in prescription 1 indicate that the point with no cylinder power is five degrees to the right of center in the right eye and five degrees to the left of center in the left eye.

In prescription 1, both points are shifted 5 degrees to the right compared to prescription 2.

Relative to center, in prescription 1 they're balanced and in prescription 2 they're not. Is there any advantage to balancing them?
