Vitrectomy and lupus

  1. Most of you have followed the "cataract saga" here and can read it
below. My retinal surgeon wants to do a vitrectomy to remove the piece
of old cataract. He says it may help the pupil constrict normally, but
    there are no guarantees.
I already had a terrible time with what was supposedly a routine
cataract removal. I have lupus, and my question is: how many weeks of
recovery am I going to need after vitrectomy - and by recovery, I mean
a point at which I can read small print again, which I need to do for
    my job? Melinda

  2. I would think unless something else is going on, you should be able to
read within a few days, although you probably will need glasses to see
    the small print.
