can't get my glasses not to slip down my nose, and i don't know what
    i'm doing wrong.

  2. you are not doing anything "wrong", other than failing to find a
competent optician. A well-fit and well-adjusted frame uses three
locations to carry the weight of the frame. The frame should hug your
skull bones without touching the back of your ear (on both sides) and
then the remaining weight is on your nose. You need a competent
optician, bacause the good ones really balance the frame on your face
    well.

I am a competent optician, but whoever adjusted your eyeglasses needs
more instruction. The eyeglasses should rest on the nosepads( at the
front of the head). A way to think of it is that your nosepads will
hold the frame up, and not on. A frame should not fit like a vice.
Patients do have different preferences when it comes to placement of
the frame, but comfort in a well fitted frame is important for all
    patients.
