Why so many Lazers after retinal detachment oil based surgery?

    My father is 55 years old and recently he had gone through a major retinal detachment oil based surgery. But, after the surgery, he was continuously gone through minor 7-8 lazer surgeries. So, I'm here just to know the purpose of these post surgery lazers? If possible, please explain me!
